Well this is incredible. In the last week, I have been brought on board to help with PR for the film jumping off bridges. I have been inspired and am writing out a documentary. Now I’ve been hired to do a promotion for a news segment on KXAN here in
Whew!
So I'm taking my first baby steps into film making. By way of the back door of course!. I thought I'd offer to help Kat and Stacy with publicity for jumping off bridges. I thought it would be a great way to get to know how things worked from the PR angle.
I know I'm probably screwing up any chances of ever getting film work with them again. Working with production companies totally blows the "actor mystery thing” But what the hell. I never did things the proper way anyway. Also, these folks are so nice and willing to educate, I feel lucky to help out.

It’s amazing to think that a few days ago, I was doing the same ol’ same ol’. Then last Tuesday I had an amazing creative acting class with Ck McFarland and got the greatest idea of a documentary. I couldn’t go to sleep that night thinking about it. It’s rolling around in my head and is forming into a really doable film. I am so excited about doing this film!!!
Then I met Kat and Stacy on Wednesday to see if I could help them with publicity. I am so thrilled to be able to help them on the film. It’s very interesting getting into the publicity side of it. But holy cow! There is so much stuff involved with getting publicity for a film. My head is spinning! I don’t know how Kat and Stacy (and the rest at storie production) do it. It’s like they have made this enormous loosely woven fabric and little by little, they have been pulling the threads together to make this incredible tapestry.
I’m really impressed. Impressed and inspired!!
I had so much fun today helping the Yeager sisters with casting for their film Blue Suede Wings. They were auditioning little kids for the lead role and I was reading with the kids. Marian and Elizabeth wanted to have an experienced actor read with the kids, so the kids could give their best performance. All of those kids were so good. I’m glad I don’t have to decide which one will get cast.
There is something about the 7 to 10 year old range, where a kid is not really impressed by adults. They just do the part and have fun with it. No problems with nerves or self-consciousness at all.
Like I said it was really fun.
What an incredible film. Saw it the other day and it just won't leave me alone!
It leaves me speechless.
Had lunch at Chuy's with the Yeager sisters. I must say, they can stick with an idea.
Marian wrote a great little short some time ago and she and Elizabeth have been plugging away at it. Got to admire their determination. Come hell or high water they are going to get this made. And when they do, I'm going to be the first in line for a ticket!
Went to Lorie's goodbye/birthday party this evening. It was wonderful to see familiar faces. I'm very sorry to see her go. LA will be the better for her being there, but is it truly
I got my nerve up to offer my short film to Kat to take a look at. This is a big step for me. To let someone else see what I've done besides acting.
I'm inspired by their determination and fortitude. Making films, running mile after mile.
Inspiration - I want to live that word!
Have a really great story that I'm going to start shaping into a screenplay. I'm not going to restrict myself on length, content or anything.
When I try to write a story I feel like I'm rifling through a million folders of ideas which are meshing together to make new ideas. Its a great feeling. The door of possibility is opening.
O.K. I've figured it out. I'm not creating. I always get the blues when I'm not creating anything. I'm not taking any acting classes, I'm not in any films, I'm not even shooting any film or writing.
That is definitely my problem. MUST CREATE TO LIVE!!!
I love blogs! I love to see what's happening with Kat, Stacy and Adrienne. See how the running is going, what's going on with "jumping", and how the writing is going.
Am I living vicariously through their blogs, or are they are inspiring me to get off my duff and write the thousand stories in my head and then make them.
Truthfully? I think both.
